Steam Down Join Brick Lane Jazz Festival

Steam Down appear at Brick Lane Jazz Festival this weekend alongside the National Youth Jazz Orchestra Big Band, performing new material. The collective's founder Ahnansé also features as a speaker at the festival's inaugural conference programme, which runs alongside the music.

Named #1 Best London Festival by The London Standard in 2024, Brick Lane Jazz Festival spans 12 stages across the Old Truman Brewery, Village Underground, and other East London venues. The 2026 edition runs April 23–26, with performances from Steam Down, JGrrey, Charlotte Dos Santos, Joe Armon-Jones, and others.

The collaboration with NYJO marks a rare big band format for Steam Down, whose weekly improvised sessions at Peckham Levels have defined South London's jazz scene for seven years.

Brick Lane Jazz Festival 2026 runs April 23–26 across venues in Brick Lane and Shoreditch.
