Nostalgia 77 Returns with New Album

Nostalgia 77

Nostalgia 77

Ben Lamdin's latest offering as Nostalgia 77, When The Lights Gone, blends modern jazz influences with a timeless vintage groove—a natural progression for the UK producer who's been sculpting these sounds since 2002.

The album delivers deep soul, cinematic soundscapes, and warm analog textures, continuing the trajectory that earned Lamdin the Jazz Album of the Year at the Gilles Peterson BBC Worldwide Awards back in 2006. The new LP arrives three years after The Loneliest Flower in the Village, his acclaimed 2023 collaboration with arranger Riaan Vosloo on Jazzman Records.

Lamdin's work has always occupied that fertile ground between sample-based composition and live ensemble performance. When The Lights Gone appears to lean into the latter, favoring the kind of immersive, organic production that made his Octet recordings so compelling.

When The Lights Gone is available now on vinyl and digital formats.
